Dr. Damodhar Nerella is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician with more than 20 years of experience caring for patients across hospital medicine, internal medicine, rehabilitation, hospice, and post-acute care.

Dr. Nerella earned his medical degree from M.R. Medical College in India and completed extensive postgraduate training in Internal Medicine in the United Kingdom before completing his Internal Medicine residency at Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. He has practiced medicine in South Carolina since 2004 and has served patients throughout the Upstate for more than two decades.

Throughout his career, Dr. Nerella has held numerous clinical and leadership positions, including hospitalist and Internal Medicine physician at AnMed Health and St. Francis Hospital, as well as Physician Advisor for AnMed Health. He has also served as a medical director for hospital medicine, rehabilitation, nursing facilities, and hospice organizations.

His extensive international training and experience have given him a broad perspective on medicine and a strong commitment to evidence-based, comprehensive patient care. He has particular experience managing complex medical conditions and caring for patients across the continuum of healthcare.

Dr. Nerella has also received recognition for his commitment to medicine, including the Abdul Kalaam Best Doctor Award in 2024, as well as academic honors during his medical education.

Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Nerella is passionate about health education and giving back to communities in need. He has participated in free health camps in remote villages in India, providing health screenings, preventive care, and medications to underserved populations. He has also participated in health education programs through global television channels and YouTube, helping educate the public about health and disease prevention.

Dr. Nerella is licensed to practice medicine in South Carolina and Georgia and remains committed to providing knowledgeable, compassionate care to every patient he serves.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Nerella enjoys swimming, cricket, and tennis.
